Southern Maine Health Care is seeking Clinical Care Registered Nurse Coordinators (RNs) in Biddeford. This is a new opportunity for registered nurses who are self-motivated, looking to further their careers, and establish themselves as a leader in the MaineHealth organization. These positions require the Nurse Coordinators to communicate directly and effectively with the unit Nurse Manager on this Medical Surgical unit to ensure the unit is running at its fullest potential. Responsibilities of the Nurse Coordinators include a combination of management, education, and clinical duties to ensure that the department needs are met.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Nurse Manager.
  • Oversees scheduling of staff based on skills mix and clinical needs.
  • Audits for staff compliance and clinical competency.
  • Participates in hiring decisions with the collaboration of staff and unit manager as requested.
  • In collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Nurse Educator, provides direct input to employee performance evaluations.
  • Mentors unit to guide practice of newer RNs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred.
  • 2 years' current specialty experience preferred.
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience with acute care setting preferred.
  • A relatively high level of critical thinking skills, process and problem-solving skills, systems knowledge and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
