Position Description
The School of Nursing at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a full-time, academic-year (9-month), non-tenure-track, soft-money funded Lecturer of Nursing position. This is a 100% teaching position. External funding is currently available for this lecturer position through August 31, 2027. Responsibilities will include teaching and student advising. The position carries an expectation to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the University and the discipline. The School of Nursing is looking for a candidate to fulfill a 24-credit load per academic year (Sept – May). Each semester, 12 credits will be divided between teaching and academic advising:
- 5 credits will be designated towards being the 1st-3rd semester academic advisor for the School of Nursing. Additional responsibilities include: attending open houses, accepted student days, freshman orientation, and being actively engaged in our SON Living Learning Community (LLC).
- 7 credits dedicated towards teaching in the undergraduate nursing program. The candidate may also be needed to teach other undergraduate lab/clinical rotations in the baccalaureate nursing program, as needed.
