2017 Fall Conference
A note from the President:
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us at our 2017 MESPAN Fall Conference in Portland yesterday, Saturday November 4th.
At MESPAN we live our mission. We are dedicated to promotion of the highest standards of professional practice in the perianesthesia setting. By taking part in our education conference as an attendee, you demonstrate your commitment as well. I applaud you for your efforts to stay abreast of the newest information related to your practice – your patients and their families benefit tremendously from your expert knowledge and your high quality, compassionate care.
While I specifically acknowledged Mary and Deb’s amazing job yesterday, I would be remiss if I neglected to highlight the coordinated efforts of the entire Board of Directors – each and every one of them had a hand in yesterday’s success. It takes the entire team working together to make our conferences run smoothly. It is my pleasure to work with them to bring you the highest possible quality educational offerings like yesterday’s conference.
Additionally, MESPAN’s membership drive was a success. On behalf of MESPAN and its Board of Directors, I would like to welcome our NINE new members who signed up yesterday. Our Membership Strategic Work Team has been hard at work and you will be hearing more from them in the future. I hear they have something up their sleeves for Perianesthesia Nurses Week, so stay tuned and encourage your colleagues to join us too.
On a closing note, I offer up my sincere appreciation for your incredible generosity yesterday. Perianesthesia Nurses have big hearts – yesterday 81 nurses from Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts were in attendance and collectively they met 355 need requests and then reached into their pockets to donate cash. This, coupled with donated speaker fees and our 50/50 raffle proceeds, amounted to $286.00 in cash contributions. You are all amazing – thank you!
